The Fear of God's Will in My Life

So if we pray, "Thy wil be done," how can we deal with the fear of giving up control?

Part of the answer is to pause and let your soul be impressed by the truth that God is sovereign. That is, He is wise, powerful, and loving.  God loves you in dimensions beyond your imagination (Ephesians 3:14-19)! God is so powerful that He is "able to do exceedingly abundantly beyond all we ask or imagine". And God's "understanding has no limit" (Psalm 147:5).

Surrender to His sovereignty and pray, "Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven."

I really like how you put this - pause and let your soul be impressed by the truth that God is soverign- hmm - my favorite verse comes to mind
Paslm 46:10 Be Still and know that I am God- The verse that is hanging on the santuary walls.

It's better to just give up control.  Like Jonah, He's going to get us to where He wants us anyway and it's better to just give in and get it over with than to go through the rebellion and get a good whooping.  Either way you could end up disappointed and it's better to be miserable knowing you're in God's will than miserable because you're fighting Him.  Also, if your life is supposed to somehow be tied to other people's lives, by not giving up control then you could be screwing up the plans God has for someone else or significantly delaying them.
