Heaven Is For Real

Yesterday, I mentioned the story of Colton who, at the age of 3+, nearly died from a burst appendix. Colton's story of an out-of-body experience, apparently going to heaven and the amazing things he saw there that fit so well with the Bible's description of heaven (even though Colton would have never known such details as such a young boy), is simply amazing. I recommend the book -- not because it's the authoritative description of heaven like we find in the Bible -- but because it's one of those books that stops and makes us think. Sometimes, we read the Bible as though it's just another book to study and not a picture of the reality that we will experience. Colton's story makes us stop and think of questions like: What will it be like to see Jesus? Am I prepared?

Revelation 18 is the reading for today. Judgment of Babylon is the theme and perhaps the most impressive word is found in verse 10: "Woe to you! Woe to you, great city, you mighty city of Babylon! In one hour your doom has come!" God snaps His fingers and the mightiest city is doomed (see verses 17 and 19 also)!
