God's Patience, Our Opportunity

In Revelation 10 we see an interlude between the sixth and seventh trumpets just as there was an interlude between the sixth and seventh seals (see 7:1-17). Both interludes emphasize God's patience and the coming judgment. So this mighty angel robed in a cloud with a rainbow over his head with an open scroll in his hand announces as he raises his right hand to God: "There will be no more delay! But in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be accomplished, just as he announced to his servants the prophets" (verses 6b-7). God will bring about all the prophecies. That day is coming when everything will be made plain. This calls us to ask, "Am I ready?" Or, "Are my family and friends ready?" Or, "Who needs to hear about Jesus?" Or, "How can I store up treasure in heaven today?" God is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. His patience has given us this moment of opportunity to get ready. What will be your next stepping stone to getting ready to see God?
