Each 1 Reach 1

One of our churchwide challenges in 2011 is called "Each One Reach One." The idea is to pray for and seek out spiritual conversation in which we help people move one step closer to Christ. For example, that may mean introducing someone to the idea of God who never had heard of God. Or, it might mean helping someone who has emotional barriers about faith in Jesus Christ -- maybe the person had a bad experience with a church in the past and has concluded that Jesus is not an option, and that person realizes that they are overreacting. Those are one step closer conversations. Or, it might mean leading someone to receive God's gift of salvation in Christ Jesus.

When the big snowstorm hit last week, I wasn't thinking I'd see anyone or talk with anyone when I walked through the snow to church for the afternoon. But someone called just when I was about to leave and asked to talk with me. Fortunately, I agreed and the conversation led to the man receiving Christ!
